My partner and I often play the 'what car would you choose if money was no option' game. Mine changes often, but the same car has been there in my top three for a while now; the BMW 1M.
The 1M Coupe is the fastest 1 Series ever. It has aggressive looks, quad exhaust pipes and large tyres and flared wheelarches. Inside it has all the M Sport embellishment on the gearstick, dials and seats. Leather and Alcantara suede feature throughout.
The 1 Series M has a punchy 3.0litre turbocharged, six cylinder engine producing 335bhp. It is fantastically agile with sharp, accurate steering. It is quite a lightweight car, which should help towards lowering fuel costs. As a result of its weight is also astonishing speed. The 1 Series M is capable of reaching 0-62mph in an incredible 4.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph, though even in sixth gear this car is blisteringly fast.
The 1 Series M has a great amount of equipment, including climate control, central locking, power wing mirrors, air conditioning, electric front windows and Bluetooth as standard. You can also opt for a harmon/kardon sound system and satellite navigation system.
Only 250 1M's were sold in the UK, so it's no surprise that there are none left to purchase already. It has a reasonable amount of space for adults in the rear and a spacious boot with a capacity of 370 litres, so would make a great family car as well as one to play in.
Yes, I think I'll keep the 1M as my top car for a while longer, one can dream! BMW Stockport dealers can help you to try and track down a used BMW 1M if you've decided you have to have one!
