I'm sure you have all seen the Vauxhall Insignia out on the roads. It's one of my favourite saloon cars at the moment, with sleek styling and a lovely interior. But for those needing a little more space and are looking for an estate car or 4x4, Vauxhall could have just the thing.
They recently announced the arrival of the Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer Crossfour. The new model was designed in collaboration with German tuning company Irmscher and will feature four wheel drive and a higher ride height. It will have a 2.0 litre CDTi engine providing 158bhp that will be available with the choce of manual or automatic six speed transmission, and a more powerful version with 193bhp. The car will also feature a rear locking differential that directs torque to the rear wheel that requires it the most, Start-Stop technology and FlexRide (Adaptive Stability Technology) which optimises the dynamic behaviour of the car.
It is also expected that Vauxhall will release a VXR version, which will provide 321bhp and give Audi's A4 Allroad a run for its money. Vauxhall are keeping quiet about the new Insignia Sports Tourer Crossfour for the time being, but it is expected that we will see it introduced to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in the Spring.
Unlike a lot of estate cars on the road, the Sports Tourer Crossfour is just as attractive as the saloon version. It has a contrasting grey trim, giving a sporty look, and rear faux skid plates.
Vauxhall dealers across the UK will no doubt be keen to hear further information on the new Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer Crossfour. Contact you local dealer if you want to be kept in touch with possible release dates.
