If, like me, you are a big fan of the Audi A1, you will be thrilled to hear of the latest offering from Audi, the A1 Quattro.

This is going to be one exclusive car, as only 330 will be built worldwide, so competition will be fierce! It is not known if n fact Audi will sell any in the UK at all, they are waiting to see what demand is like. It will be available in left hand drive only, however.

The Audi A1 Quattro will be powered by a 2.0 litre TFSI engine with 256bhp, the same as the RS3. It might have a similar amount of power as some of its rivals like the Ford Focus RS and Renault Megane RS250, but the A1 Quattro will have one thing the others don't; four wheel drive. The A1 Quattro will have a top speed of approximately 152mph and be able to do 0-62mph in just 5. Seconds.

It will have a conventional six-speed manual gearbox. Most of the power will go the front wheels but if a loss of traction s detected in the rear, power will be sent to the rear wheel that needs it most. The A1 Quattro will be fitted with traction control, but if you fancy a bit of action around the track, it can be switched off.

Appearance-wise, the Quattro has special front and rear bumpers adding 30mm to the length of the car. The interior features black leather with striking red stitching. It is a fabulous looking car, available only in white with accents of black and red that contrast wonderfully against the white paintwork. It also has a funky gloss black roof.

The new Audi A1 Quattro will go on sale towards the end of 2012. Let's just hope enough people in the UK want one so we can see it gracing our streets!
