There are a multitude of small city cars on the market at the moment, but when you are looking for a compact car, as I am, but don't want to drive a car that resembles a shoe, what choices are out there?
There are three new cars coming on to the market all built upon the same platform; the Volkswagen Up!, the Skoda Citigo and the new SEAT Mii. Although they are all identical in dimension, and have similar bodyshapes, my favourite of the three is definitely the SEAT Mii.
SEAT has been one of my favourite car marques for a while now, since the design of their family of cars was updated and now features one of the best looking cars on the road, the SEAT Ibiza. The SEAT Mii continues with this design strategy, to produce a car that is compact, but still stylish too.
The front end of the Mii is particularly striking, with unusually shaped headlights and a similarly shaped but smaller grille. Although it has been design for gliding through the city streets, the Mii is deceptively spacious inside.
The SEAT Mii will be available in four trim levels; S, SE, Ecomotive and Sport. Top level Sport models will get larger wheels, a glossy gret finish across the dashboard and steering wheel, and stiffer, lowered suspension. There will also be a range of styling packs, so that customers can personalise their own car.
The new SEAT Mii will be available with a 1.0 litre, three-cylinder engine with either 59 bhp or 74 bhp. Comfort is paramount in the Mii with the high quality dampers making the ride wonderfully smooth. Being a small car, the Mii has great fuel economy, as you would expect. The higher powered model returns a great 60.1mpg and emits just 108g/km of CO2. The Ecomotive model will reduce emissions even further and take the Mii below the free car tax barrier.
