There are a couple of really good car adverts on TV at the moment. One of the best I think is the Renault advert for their electric car range. The advert sees people using day to day items such as a hairdryer, vending machine and credit card machine in a restaurant, that use petrol instead of electricity, emitting lots of smoke. It asks why we would drive petrol and diesel cars, when electric items are so commonplace everywhere we go.
Then there is the Fiat 500 advert that has caused controversy, mainly due to the fact that the advert is all about her driving back to the Bronx and seeing landmarks and areas that she grew up with and that inspire her, when in fact she did all the filming in LA and a body double shot the parts in the Bronx! Oh dear...
Another advert that has not made it to our TV screens, but hopefully will arrive soon, is Italian advert for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Abarth are the performance arm of Fiat, and have come up with a great advertising campaign. The ad is aptly named 'Seduction' and sees an Italian supermodel having a close encounter with a male 'cubicle clone' in his office. He then discovers that she is, in fact, a car!
The ad was directed by Luca Maroni who is a big name in the commercial business. The actors are Matthew Rocheleau, who has recently moved into Hollywood films, who plays the office boy and the supermodel is played by Catrinel Menghia, a Romanian model married to an ex Italian footballer.
If you want to buy an Abarth 500 Berkshire, firstly check out the advert on Youtube, and then contact your nearest Abarth dealer to see if you get 'seduced' too!
