French car manufacturer Citroen has been producing the C3 since 2002; it is a supermini that replaced the very popular Citroen Saxo. The first generation model shared its platform with PSA Group siblings, the Peugeot 1007 and 207 both used the same platform. Many of the components used on the C3 have been taken from the Peugeot 206.
In 2006 Citroen gave the Citroen C3 in Kent a small face lift, the new design consisted of a more imposing bumper, wider lower air intake, single air intake slit below the restyled radiator grille and a re-positioned number plate. In 2003 Citroen launched the C3 Pluriel which is a convertible with a full or partial close roof. In 2008 Citroen launched the mini MPV model based on the C3 and called it the C3 Picasso.
The second and most current model was launched in 2009; it has a revamped design and style. Most notably the new car features a 108 degree field of vision windscreen and a panoramic windscreen. A new Picasso model was also launched. The new car comes with a handful of petrol engines that include two 1.4 litre units taken from BMW. There are also three very good diesel engines to choose from.
This week Citroen has launched a new special edition C3 Picasso, called Code. It uses the HDi diesel engine that comes with 90 bhp and can do 61.4 miles to the gallon. It is also very environmentally friendly as it only emits 120 g/km of CO2.
The special edition Code model comes with the Citroen 'Look Pack' which comes with Polar White or Cherry Red 17" 'Clover' alloy wheels depending on the body colour. It also comes with chrome lower bumper inserts, Shiny black painted door handles with chrome inserts, Obsidian Black painted front & rear bumpers, Obsidian Black door mirrors with shiny black surround & base plate, Longitudinal roof bars, Shiny black vent surrounds and Carpet mats.
