I live in a small house on a very quiet, narrow road in the Kent countryside. There are quite a lot of houses down my road and a very small amount of room to manoeuvre vehicles. One day I was just about to leave for work in my Toyota when I noticed that a delivery lorry was slowly creeping down my road, blocking the way that I needed to go. I had booked my Toyota in for a servicing in that morning before work and it was vital that I was there on time. I assumed that the lorry would drive on past eventually and I would be free to drive off. However, to my dismay I noticed that the lorry had stopped. On closer inspection I saw that it was completely stuck between two pillars on either side of the road. There was enough room to get my Toyota through that gap but absolutely no way a lorry of that size would fit. I began to worry about my servicing but tried to stay calm. Pretty quickly a log jam of cars began to appear on the road. Fortunately, I had not yet ventured onto the road and was instead on the safety of my drive. The situation quickly developed into these motorists being completely stuck. They were unable to go forward and unable to go backwards. I was in a similar position in my Toyota on my drive. I then decided to ring the garage to tell them about my situation and to see if I could reschedule the Toyota servicing. However, to my surprise the lorry suddenly reversed back the way it came and all of the traffic cleared.
I was able to make my servicing on time.
