It is a fact of life, but when you purchase a new car as soon as you drive it out of the dealer then you have lost money on it if you decided to sell it immediately. Whilst quite an extreme example, for many cars this does hold true. In fact car value will obviously depreciate the older the car becomes and the more miles it racks up. Whilst most cars are sadly destined for the scrap heap, there are certain makes and models that have the potential to become future classics and over time appreciate in value. For instance, for those who remember the Mark 1 Golf and the Peugeot 205 GTI these cars were the must have hot hatches of their day and were sort after by teenagers and boy racers alike. If you look to buy a mint example of the Peugeot 205 today, you'll find that you might have to pay between four and five thousand pounds for such a vehicle. The on the road price when it was released was just six and a half thousand pounds so if you had bought one new, you would not have lost much money on your investment. In the future the price of the car is likely to surpass its initial on the road price. When you look at the current automotive market and try to identify the cars with future classic potential then one of the first cars that springs to mind is the Fiat 500. Whilst at the release of this car there was a huge amount of buzz surrounding it, it wasn't unfounded attention because it can be difficult to find anyone who dislikes this cute little runabout. Whilst most people don't but a car to keep for twenty years, by purchasing a car with the credentials of a future classic means your sale price is always likely to remain higher than on a car that doesn't display these appealing characteristics. If however you do keep a car for a while and tend to clean it and look after it like a part of the family then long term you could be onto a winner. If you are looking to buy a Fiat 500 in Berkshire then why not visit your local dealership to find out more about how you could own a Fiat 500.
