This year's report named four Ford models for used car reliability. The Ford Galaxy, Fiesta and S Max took the awards for the second year running. The Kuga took the award too for the first time, completing the domination for Ford.
The Fiesta and Kuga topped their respective categories; small cars and SUVs with less than 50,000 kilometres on the odometer with DEKRA fault index scores of 95.3% and 94.7%, respectively. The S-MAX and Galaxy won the MPV class for high-mileage vehicles, those having covered between 100,001-150,000 kilometres, with a DEKRA fault index of 66.1%.
Ford of Europe looks after the production, selling and after sales of Fords in Europe, which includes 51 individual markets and approximately 66,000 employees. Ford of Europe quality expert Dr Thomas Hochkirchen said the awards were the result of continual focus on improving reliability of Ford cars. "DEKRA is incredibly well-regarded by car buyers, and we are proud of these real-world awards," he said. "It proves our build quality and reliability start on the forecourt and keep going for tens of thousands and even hundreds of thousands of kilometres."
