January is the coldest month of the year; it might not seem like it this year as we have been blessed with relatively warm weather. It also seems like the longest month, after Christmas and New Year celebrations, everyone suffers a bit of a low during January. A lot of people look for new jobs during the month too, as they have decided to go for a change in the New Year.
Whilst we deal with our personal life let's not forget that winter is still here and will not be going away for another 3 months or so. If you have not had your car serviced or checked recently then it will be in your best interest to do so. Money may be tight but that is no excuse as many manufacturers are offering free health checks, like Skoda Servicing centres across the UK.
Having a car ready for winter is vital, small checks such as anti-freeze level, wiper blades, lights and battery condition can make a huge difference. The last thing anyone wants is to be stranded on the side of the road in the dark while it's pouring down with rain. Winter tyres might not be a bad idea as well, they work better in colder temperatures and deal better with snow and black ice.
When preparing your car for winter driving make sure you check all the lights, the wiper blades to make sure they are not blunt, washer fluid to ensure you are not caught short and check your brakes!
With budgets tight this year we may want to skimp out on things, safe motoring that we should try to avoid cutting out. A safe car can save your life and prevent a lot of problems in the immediate future.
