I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that the EcoVelocity show will be held for a second year, but at a bigger London site. The success of last years at Battersea Power Station, has lead the organisers to relocate the 2012 show to the ExCeL arena.
Each manufacturer's teams were working at full capacity with test drive demands in the low-emission models from 17 different brands. Around 7,000 test drives were taken during the 2011 show.
Even though this year's show has changed it s location, the format of the show will be very similar to last years. EcoVelocity 2012 will see car makers show their ever-growing green car model ranges including electric, hybrid and very low-carbon derivatives. Manufacturers will allow visitors to get up close and personal by offering test drives on a special test drive circuit.
Giles Brown, managing director of organisers IGME Ltd commented: "To take the event to the next level, we had to move to a world-class venue, with scope to substantially increase test drive opportunities which were at full capacity during the launch event."
Neville Staines, National Events Manager for Citroen added: "EcoVelocity proved to be a big success for Citroen, with more than 440 test drives completed over the four days. We also took a considerable number of high-quality sales leads, with interest not just in C-Zero, but also for our full range of low-emission vehicles. Considering this was the first time the show had taken place, I could not be happier with the results."
This year I will take my new Volkswagen Polo for sale, in the hope that someone will see it in the car park and hopefully call me to view it.
