I have lived in Derby for the past 3 years after moving here to go to Uni, when I was 17. I liked Derby so much that I decided to stay after I had graduated. An industrial boom began in Derby when Rolls-Royce opened a factory selling cars and aircraft in the town in 1908. In 1924, the Midland Railway became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway with main offices in London. Derby remained a major rail manufacturing centre, second only to Crewe and Wolverton.
After graduation I began looking for a house or flat to rent. My University accommodation was about to kick me out and I needed a cheap place to stay. I looked at a flat above a garage selling Used Cars In Derby . I was initially confused when I arrived at the place because it did not mention the fact that it was above a used car garage. After speaking to one of the salesman I was directed up a staircase to the door of the flat, where the estate agent was waiting for me. He began walking me through the flat and introducing me to the current tenants with whom I would be sharing the flat in this particular corner of Derby. My first impression of the place was that it was a dump. There was very little furniture and what little there was looked awful. There was also a lot of damp on the walls.
On my way out I saw a campervan being sold alongside all of the used cars and considered making an offer on it and living in it permanently in the car parks all over Derby. The only reason I will return to that place is to browse the used cars.
