I was born and raised in the town of Wellingborough. As of 2001 the census states that Wellingborough has a population of 50,000. The town of Wellingborough is governed by The Borough Council of Wellingborough, with their office located in the main town centre. The town is twinned with Niort in France and with Wittlich in Germany.
My uncle started the family business, selling Used Cars in Wellingborough, many years ago. I started working at the family business when I left school at the age of 16. I considered staying on at school to study my A-Levels but I eventually decided that I would start my career and start earning money in order to buy my own place. I started on the bottom rung of the ladder washing cars and sweeping up. It was not a very glamorous job but within a few months I had moved inside and was working on the accounts. I stayed doing that for a couple of years until I eventually moved on to actually selling the used cars. This was the most fun I had ever had working for the family business. I had face to face contact with new people every day and enjoyed the challenge of convincing the customers that the particular car that I was trying to sell was exactly what they were looking for. I was selling the used cars for a few years before my uncle informed me that he was going to retire. He had chosen to put me in charge of the whole used car business and so I moved into the big office on the top floor. I was very grateful for the amazing opportunity and the responsibility that came with it.
