The Mercedes C Class in York is a medium size family car and an entry level executive car. The C Class was Mercedes Benz's entry level model until the introduction of the A Class. It now sits above the B Class and below the E Class. The C Class competes with the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 " so in a very competitive market.

Due to the nature of the competition the C Class has to continuously evolve to ensure it stays ahead of the game. But, the competition is doing or trying to do the exact same thing which results in very good cars for consumers in the executive sector. The C Class is currently available with a range of petrol and diesel engines, but as with most modern cars the diesel engine is so well refined that it is the popular choice.

Recently Mercedes Benz launched the C63 " the most powerful version of the C Class available. It uses a 6.3 litre V8 engine that has 457 bhp; it can do 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.

The new C Class model is due to be launched next year and according to Mercedes Benz most if not all of the petrol range will use hybrid technology. The German engineers are working hard on produce a range of diesel and petrol engine that emit less than 100g/km of CO2. The rumours are that some of the models may use cylinder deactivation technology, allowing the engines to occasionally run on just two cylinders.

The C Class is a great car both for a family and as a company or fleet car. Because it is a premium German car it comes with a lot of gadgets and technology such as the driver aware system which alerts the driver if it thinks the driver is getting tired.
