Hyundai is a South Korean car company, the term Hyundai means "Modernity" in Korean. Hyundai forms part of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group which also includes the Kia brand. Both of these brands have been increasing their visibility in the European and UK automotive industry. The Kia brand took the automotive industry by storm with is 7 year warranty, Hyundai offers a 5 year warranty " both of these were unheard of before.

Inspiring models from Hyundai have helped it become popular amongst Europeans, the i10, i20 and the most recent Veloster models have definitely put the brand in peoples' mind. To help with European growth Hyundai opened a new plant in Nosovice, Czech Republic. This plant can produce 300,000 cars a year and is only 90 km away from Kia's plant in Slovakia.

Hyundai is no longer a brand that produces cheap cars; it now builds and sells competitively priced reliable, good looking and well built cars. A testament to Kia is the new i40 which won the EuroCarBody Golden Award, beating off nine of Europe and Japan's largest automakers. The judging panel highlighted the Hyundai i40's use of high-strength steel and improved joints in the structure resulting in a lightweight body which has high energy absorption efficiency, providing increased safety to occupants in the event of an accident.

The Veloster is the latest weapon in Hyundai's armoury; it is a very unusual car in that it has 2 doors on the passenger and 1 on the driver's side. In October the Veloster was awarded 5 stars out of 5 at the EuroNCAP safety tests. The Hyundai Veloster follows in the footsteps of the all new i40, becoming the sixth consecutive Hyundai model to achieve the maximum five star score from Euro NCAP. the car is now available at Hyundai dealer Stockport.

Allan Rushforth who is the Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe was very happy with the results and sais, "The five-star rating for Veloster further demonstrates our commitment to the highest levels of safety for Hyundai customers. Veloster is attracting a new audience to the Hyundai brand, combining practicality and 'fluidic' design in a unique 1+2 door package. Recognition of its class-leading safety performance will further add to its appeal."
