When it comes to cars, some people are intent of upgrading their existing models for the newest release every year or two. This despite the general consensus that when it comes to purchasing a new car you tend to lose a large proportion of the purchase price as soon as you drive it off the forecourt. Albeit, times do appear to be changing with new car prices coming down.
The media has a large part to play in this trend as whenever a new model of car is unveiled there is a lot of hype created and an impression given that your old model is yesterday's newspaper. But is this really the case and is there really a need to upgrade to the latest model each time?
Let's look at the Ford Mondeo for instance. This model has been around for years and each new model has picked up a number of awards along the way. For instance, the current model was recently awarded two awards at the 2012 What Car? Awards " being named the 'UK's Best Family Car' and the 'Best Estate Car' (adding to similar awards collected in 2009).
But was the latest model vastly superior to the old model and so forth? Moreover, the new Mondeo which is due to be released in 2013 has recently been unveiled so will this model be much different to the award winning model currently being sold by Ford?
We would need to do a full review of the cars to find out. However, what is clear is that consumers are guaranteed to upgrade for the very fact that new cars are exciting and as the old saying goes "variety is the spice of life". And as mentioned, there are some great
