When Chevrolet designers set about designing the new Aveo they decided to go away from the traditional small car look " small, cute and cuddly. The new Aveo like the new Spark has a more aggressive look with square components, making it look more "beefy" and "manly". Prices for the entry level model start at under 10,000.
Chevrolet UK Managing Director Mark Terry said, "Much like we did with the Spark, we wanted to take the image of small cars away from being cute and cuddly. Instead, we've delivered a car that's striking, bold and has attitude. It draws on our iconic models, such as the Camaro and Corvette, for its styling influence, with cues such as the distinctive round headlamps and dual-cockpit interior giving it a lot more personality than you'd normally find in this sector of the market."
Like other Chevrolets in the range the new Chevrolet Aveo comes with a decent amount of kit as standard, some of the features include remote locking, a rear spoiler, CD-stereo radio, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and electric front windows. The mid-range LT trim comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, steering wheel audio controls, air conditioning, a four-way adjustable driver's seat, sunglasses holder, a Driver Information Centre, Bluetooth phone compatibility, and a chrome gear knob surround.
The top of the range model comes with the addition of leather steering wheel, front fog lamps, rear parking sensors and automatic headlamps.
I like how Chevrolet has decided to set their models apart from the competition by making them fundamentally look different and out of the norm. The Aveo would suit both a male and female driver as it's not too "girly" and has enough kit on it too keep most people happy.
Both the inside and out appear to be put together very well, the quality of materials is adequate although the interior dash could have been nicer. On the outside it looks as good if not better than most of its rivals.
