If you are staying in a hotel during the winter then be careful if you are hoping for a nice swim in the outdoor pool as many cheaper hotels will not have heated swimming pools which are required in the winter depending on your destination of course.
A luxury hotel will often have much more sports and leisure facilities available with activities planned throughout your stay to keep you occupied and content.
